super feet

Last week I found out I have Plantar Fasciitis, a painful inflammation along the arch and heel of my foot. This means physical therapy, icing, stretching, no high impact sports, and orthotic insoles for months. It’s fairly common and many people I know have had trouble with it in the past. I learned that without proper support, the arch of my foot collapses every time I take a step, straining the tendon along the arch. So now I’m faced with the dilemma of figuring out what shoes I can wear or how I can wear the shoes I own. I purchased 4 different pairs of over the counter orthotics (custom-made cost $600). I finally found a great pair called Super Feet at See Jane Run on 24th St. in Noe Valley. They also make a 3/4 length which can be fit into shoes like Toms or flat boots. Chaco flip flops have pretty good arch support. But what about cute, going out shoes? I’d love some tips for how to find/adjust (moderate) heels. Let me know if you have any ideas!
