24 of 30: caped crusader

It’s a little hard for me to get my boyfriend to take photos of me for my blog. To be honest, I respect that about him because, well, he has more important things to do. Don’t get me wrong. It would be fab to have a photographer at my beckon call, but then I wouldn’t be as appreciative of when he has time to snap some cool pics of me on his iPhone. Thank you Nick. You’re a champ. Especially because you let me have the big closet.

I’m home sick today. This is actually what I wore to dinner last night with skinny jeans and my black sweater. A few remixers like Kendra of Closet Confections and Liz of Law Mama deemed capes and ponchos outwear and thus not part of the 30 items, so I decided to join them.

My mom made me this cape a few years ago. She did a pretty great job, but I can’t give her all the credit. My sister Maggie wanted a cape when the only cool ones were over $500—-they hadn’t hit the mainstream stores like they have this season. So my Mom, being the resourceful and creative person that she is, bought a pattern and made her one. Obviously that made me want one too, because my younger sister isn’t allowed to be cooler than me. Well, actually both of my younger sisters are cooler than me, but I’m not going to take it lying down.
