musthave monday: penny loafers

Check out the Polyvore for items and prices

If you're feeling tired of your basic ballet flats, give penny loafers a try this spring. They polish up the look of your skinny jeans, cropped pants, or shorts, but maintain a casual, comfortable feel. You can't go wrong with black or cognac, but I  also love the fun colors Michael Kors has out this season, like tangerine and lime green.

  1. I've kind of written off penny loafers. Its not that I don't like them. But wearing a size 9.5 I always assumed that they'd look to mannish on me and make my feet look like boats! While I still think I should stay away from neutrals that might be mistaken for man shoes, I could totally get on board with something fun colored! You have me all mixed up on my thoughts on penny loafers right now. To wear or not to wear? That is the question!

  2. I am seriously lusting for penny loafers. For two weeks in a row, loafers were the focus of my Sole Mates feature on my blog. As soon as I get back to the US (penny loafers and sand seem like an odd pair), I plan to buy at least one pair...maybe two. One of which may have to be those orange patent ones - great picks!

  3. Those lime green ones are amazing! Penny loafers would be such a fun way to add a pop of color to an outfit!

  4. Once you're off the beach you should definitely buy some orange ones!

  5. I'm a size 9 and I rarely think about what looks good/bad on big feet. Is that weird? Should I be more cognizant or enjoy my ignorance?

  6. I don't know - sometimes I feel like my feet look like I'm wearing big, giant, clown shoes (especially in platforms or big espadrille type shoes). But I may be neurotic to the point of slightly crazy.
